  2. /Using the Function Keys
  3. Press F1 again for more help or SPACE to exit
  4.  
  5. The available function keys appear at the
  6. bottom of the screen. They are :
  7.  
  8. F1 - Help. Press F1 again for more help.
  9. F2 - Change the default directory.
  10. F3 - Select - move the cursor among the
  11.      hypertext concepts.
  12. F4 - View -  display hypertext for the
  13.      concept under the cursor.     ... pg down
  14. F8 - DOS - Enter a DOS command. Type "exit"
  15.      to return to KnowledgePro.
  16. F10 - Quit - Quit the current application or,
  17.      if not inside an application, quit
  18.      KnowledgePro.
  19. These keys may also be selected by moving the
  20. mouse cursor over the key in the message
  21. window and clicking either button.
  22. /Answer a question
  23. Press F1 again for more help or SPACE to exit
  24.  
  25. There are two different ways you can
  26. provide information to the knowledge base :
  27.  1] select from a pop-up menu
  28.  2] type a one line response
  29. To select from the menu move the cursor using
  30. the cursor control keys or select the first
  31. letter of the answer then press <ENTER>
  32. To enter a response to the => prompt type the
  33. response at the prompt and press <Enter>
  34. /Display a message
  35. Press F1 again for more help or SPACE to exit
  36.  
  37. When you're finished reading a message, press
  38. <SPACE> to continue or, with a mouse, point and
  39. click on the word "Space" at the bottom of the
  40. screen. When a message is more than one page
  41. long, use PgUp and PgDn to scroll through it.

  43. /Highlighted Text - Hypertext
  44. Press F1 again for more help or SPACE to exit
  45.  
  46. As messages are displayed some areas of text
  47. may be highlighted or underlined. There
  48. highlighted concepts are "threaded" to more
  49. information about the concepts.  To display the
  50. threaded text, move the menu bar to the
  51. highlighted concept you want to select using F3
  52. or the mouse. Press F4 or the mouse button to
  53. view the thread.
  54. /Using a mouse
  55. Press F1 again for more help or SPACE to exit
  56.    To select from a menu, point to the item and
  57. click the left button.            
  58.    To select a hypertext thread point to the
  59. hypertext concept and click either button.
  60.    To select a hypertext thread on a picture,
  61. point and click the left button.  To exit a 
  62. picture, click the right button.
  63.    To select a command from the message window
  64. point to the command and press either button.
  65. /Runtime error
  66. Press F1 again for more help or SPACE to exit
  67.  
  68. An error has occurred while running a
  69. knowledge base. Press F10 to abort.

  71. /Garbage Collection
  72. Press F1 again for more help or SPACE to exit
  73.  
  74. The "Collecting Memory" message means that
  75. KnowledgePro is reclaiming memory that has
  76. become inaccessible. If this happens
  77. frequently try removing resident programs.
